Journey to Restoration: From Surviving to Thriving

I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Shield of Sisters event, Journey to Restoration, where survivors of military sexual trauma (MST) and other forms of trauma came together to heal, connect, and grow. This transformative event emphasized emotional resilience, storytelling, and the power of community, with impactful panels, expert speakers, and deep personal connections.

If you’re a survivor or know someone who is, there is hope. Healing happens in community. Join the movement of support and transformation by connecting with Shield of Sisters and similar organizations. Read the full blog post to learn more about my experience and how you can support survivors!

This book was born from a desire to create something honest, something raw, and something that could help families like ours feel seen, understood, and, most importantly, not alone.

Courage Revisited: A Reflection on My Word of the Year

When I chose “courage” as my word of the year again, it wasn’t because I hadn’t lived it fully—I chose it because it still had more to teach me about trusting God and stepping forward in faith.

Courage has shown up in unexpected ways this past year. It was present in the quiet moments of grief when I surrendered my pain to Jesus after losing my mother-in-love and uncle; mourning my father, and my grandmother. It was His strength that carried me through when my own felt depleted. Courage was there when I was sharing my heart while trusting Him to use my story for His glory.
